Organic chemistry and phytochemistry (special contributions to novel natural products/clinical applications, modern NMR spectroscopy for various applications to discover bioactive medicinal substances; 784 publications, 15 patents, 99 books, 59 chapters in internationally acclaimed books; Founding Editor-in-Chief/Executive Editor/Editor of several national/international journals; played a leading role in establishing the world-recognized H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry at Karachi University.
