AASSA – PAS Symposium on Radiation Techniques in Health and Environment (A Hybrid Event) 18 – 20 August, 2025
Over the years, radiation technologies have proved crucial in the domain of healthcare and environment, supporting diagnostics, treatment, and societal improvement in the urban and industrial areas. As health, medicine, and environmental fields advance, it is essential to convene experts, researchers, practitioners, and trainers from AASSA Member States and developed nations globally. The proposed hybrid event titled: “Symposium on Radiation Techniques in Health and Environment” aims to promote exchange of knowledge, collaboration, and discussions on challenges and solutions for adequate and responsible use of radiation for the betterment of health and environment among the resource persons and participants from AASSA Member States. The purpose of the event is to provide education and training to the participants from AASSA Member States on the latest developments in radiation techniques, fostering responsible, sustainable applications in healthcare and environmental science. Speakers are required to deliver lectures to participants so that they gain skills in innovative radiation tools, such as X-rays, CT, PET scans, MRI, UV Techniques, and Laser Technologies for diagnostics and cancer treatment, and environmental applications like neutron activation analysis, laser spectroscopy, and UV water treatment as well as Environmental Conservation, Radiation Therapy, Radiation Safety and Regulations, Lasers, LIBS, etc. The radiation techniques (for example UV irradiation based techniques) also support disintegration of toxic organic pollutants into non-toxic inorganic constituents, pollution detection, waste analysis, food safety, and agricultural improvements. The event will be held in collaboration with national health and radiation protection departments and international collaborators of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences.
On behalf of the Association of Academies and Societies of Sciences in Asia (AASSA), the Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS) as the local Organizer, warmly extends a cordial invitation to the relevant professionals and stakeholders working in the Academies of Science as well as Scientists, Academicians and young researchers to participate in the “Symposium on Radiation Techniques in Health and Environment” in Islamabad, Pakistan.
